While America has been struggling to understand the massacre this week in Las Vegas, many have still had more questions than answers.
From the start, officials seemed to jump the gun, wanting to assure people that Stephen Paddock was a “lone wolf” and there was no further danger to the public.
Now there is doubt to that theory. During a news conference on Wednesday that included the FBI, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Sheriff Joseph Lombardo admitted what many have suspected all along: The shooter probably didn’t act alone.
The Las Vegas sheriff, Joe Lombardo, agreed with the general assumption that Paddock had “some help at some point,” and spent a significant amount of time living a “secret life” before the attack.
More and more it seems like a lot of tedious planning went into the incident. Lombardo also hinted that the shooter may have had an escape plan, which also suggests that he had some outside help.
“Maybe he was a superhuman who figured this out all on his own but it would be hard for me to believe that,” Lombardo stated, according to the U.K. Daily Express.
This new information for sure contradicts what was suggested earlier, saying that Paddock simply snapped. All evidence now seems to point to the fact that he was planning this shooting for years and that he had help doing it.
After all, there have been repeated claims about there being more than one shooter . Sounds like there may be some actual merit to those claims.
Several audio recordings and witness accounts have suggested that the gunshots seemed to come from more than one place during the rampage. One caller to the Michael Savage radio show was in the crowd during the attack, and recounted what she remembers hearing.
“There were shots that were higher pitched. There were shots that were lower sounding. And they were going at the same time, and the lower shots were getting closer to us,” stated the caller, identified as “Gail.”
“And I’m thinking, oh my God, somebody’s walking in the crowd, spraying their gun back and forth and shooting people,” she recalled. “It sounded like someone was walking in the crowd from west to east, through the crowd and shooting.”
The caller also stated that she thought that she heard gun sounds that were being fired simultaneously, which would suggest that two weapons were being fired at the same time. She also described a bullet coming from a different direction from the Mandalay Bay hotel and striking a woman next to her.
Everything is now pointing to there being more than one shooter. Question is now, where is that second shooter and how did he or she manage to escape?
